location: De Bilt, the Netherlands
year: 2021
This family has been living with four people in this authentic 1930s house for six years now. Many original details of the house have been preserved, including the dark green-blue thick glazed tiles and the stained glass in the hexagonal entrance.
After the first introductory meeting, we arrived at the following job description: new connection.
In order to meet the wishes of a modern family, this family wishes to expand their kitchen and to involve cooking more in their family life. The old service kitchen must be expanded by adding the utility room. The garage can also be involved in creating an ultimate culinary experience for the whole family by means of an extension. In addition, the family also wishes to connect to the unused garden room. They want it to be involved in their daily lives. Father's workplace must also be given a more accessible location in the house.
